CCPS participates in the Community Eligibility Provision

All schools are eligible to participate in the Community Eligibility Option (CEO) for the 2022-2023 school year.

Slight changes have been made since, causing the number of CEP schools to increase. CCPS now has fifteen schools that will be participating in the program. All participating schools will be served Breakfast and Lunch at no charge at the following sites:

As an overview, The CEP provision will allow eligible schools to provide meal service to all students at no charge, regardless of economic status. The eligibility determination is based on the percentage of households within a school that receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance, formerly known as the Food Stamp Program, or Kentucky Transitional Assistance, formerly known as the Public Aid Program.

Under the CEP program, a school is eligible to participate if at least 40 percent of its students receive the programs listed above.

Food Service Director, Penny Holt, says, “The CEP program helps our students. Anytime we have the opportunity to help our students in a positive way, we see it as a great thing. Because of the CEP program, schools are able to provide both breakfast and lunch to students at no charge, in turn, helping families as well.”
